Soccer Without Borders began in Oakland, California, back in 2006 as a refugee soccer camp. In the past twelve years, we've grown to include ten high school teams and three middle school teams in Oakland and Hayward—serving over 350 youth annually.
Our mission is is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing under-served youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. We believe in a whole-person approach to youth development. Our programs help young people come into a greater understanding of their bodies, minds, and voices.
We currently run programs in five US cities—Baltimore, Boston, Greeley, CO, Oakland, and Seattle—and two international programs in Nicaragua and Uganda.
Small Goals Big Change is a soccer tournament where you, as a player, can help benefit present and future Soccer Without Borders participants. This year's tournament proceeds will help fund all Oakland programs—allowing more and more to be a part of the Soccer Without Borders family.
